Christmas lsland Pipistrelle Commemoration Bat Night

Type of event:
Bat Walks & Observation,
Educational,
Other
Event presence:
In person

The 26th August 2024 will mark 15 years since the Christmas Island Pipistrelle went extinct. To commemoration the pipistrelle and show our appreciation for the remaining critical endangered Christmas Island Flying Fox, we're running a bat night on the Island.

We'll start with a talk about bats, the Christmas Island Pipistrelle and the Christmas Island Flying Fox, we'll then go for a short walk to watch the flying foxes fly out for the evening. Then we'll end by returning to the golf club for some bat arts and crafts. All is welcome. No RSVP required. Details in the flyer.

Join us to remember the Christmas Island Pipistrelle - gone, but not forgotten! Let us learn from this and better protect our other species from extinction.
