What happens at Stories, Bats & Yoga Mats?

This is a brand new, twilight session for this year, so it's a bit of an experiment. It's free to come along, you just need to bring a yoga mat, or a big towel, or a blanket, and yourselves (some water might be an idea).

The session will tell a story about a little bat, and we will act out parts of the story using our bodies and some calm, easy, gentle, yoga movements. This session is for all ages and abilities - you do not need to have children to join in as the more people we have, the better the story experience will be: we can make a whole forest of trees, for example. Movements can be adapted for different bodies too so is inclusive for people with complex needs and physical disabilities.

At the end of the story, we will take some time to use our calm and our best detective skills to spot bats. We may also be lucky enough to see some planets or the moon, some interesting clouds, planes, or even hear the tawny owl that lives near the Glebe. The Glebe is beautiful on a summer evening, so why not combine the session with a walk?

This session is about calm and community and is held on a Friday night so if your little ones are up late because it's the holidays, or they're struggling to sleep in the heat, they can join in with something positive and then have Saturday for a lie-in.

Dates: Friday 5th August and Friday 26th August. 8.30pm for approx 45mins.
