"Adventures in art and science" is an educational and artistic event. More than a hundred children, parents, teachers, partners and friends of bats and the Regional Museum of History, Blagoevgrad acquainted with the bat Darky and the talented artists of the Children's and Juvenile Theater "Sturcho", headed by Julia Jivjorska. They perform a play, based on "Adventures of Darky, the bat" by Elena Stoeva. After the show, the children took part in workshops for making bats of paper and learned many interesting facts about bats from Vladimir Milushev (Bulgarian Foundation Biodiversity) and Tonya Todorova (Regional Museum of History, Blagoevgrad). The science part started in the park around the Museum. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikolay Simov from the National Museum of Natural History, Sofia explained how bats are useful, why it is important to protect them and how scientists study them. After sundown all participants could observed flying bats with a detector for ultrasound.
